My Students
Infinite potential, this is the way in which I would describe my class of second graders! My students live in a rural community just outside Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Our school is a Title I school, meaning a majority of our students come from a low socioeconomic status.
My students come to school ready to learn, but often have not had the opportunities to be exposed to real -life experiences or educational programs outside of the school system.
My students are creative, caring, motivated, and purpose driven. They enjoy challenging activities that allow for collaboration. We have created a strong sense of community in our classroom.
My Project
Everyday access to kid-friendly robots like Dash and Dot and Ozobots will help our 21st century learners to develop stronger critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills while also enabling them use hands-on practices to learn math, science, engineering and English Language Arts content.
These robots will help inspire my second graders to design, create, and explore with coding and robotics.
As a teacher I am excited to plan lessons using the robotics to incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics together to help our students develop real-world problem-solving skills and innovative thinking while mastering the state standards. They will have the ability to think outside of the box and create next generation projects that will prepare them for life in the digital age!
