Inspiring Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration Through Coding And Robotics!
My students need the Wonder Workshop robotic duo Dash and Dot, Ozobot, and Sphero to learn the basic skills of coding and make learning come to life with movement, sounds, lights and more!
Infinite potential, this is the way in which I would describe my class! My first graders have come together at this brand new STEAM school in Berkeley County, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. They come from diverse backgrounds in an area steeped in both historic traditions and a booming growth of high tech industry. They are high tech learners and are so quick to pick up on new and innovative technologies! They are even coming up with ways to use robotics to learn math and show understanding of reading!
The first grade team of teachers have worked together to plan exciting projects to bring Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics together to help our students develop real-world problem-solving skills and innovative thinking while mastering the state standards.
My Project
Everyday access to kid-friendly robots like Dash and Dot, Ozobot, and Sphero will help our 21st century learners to develop stronger critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills while also enabling them use hands-on practices to learn math, science, engineering and English Language Arts content!
These robots will help inspire our first graders to design, create, and explore with coding and robotics.
They will have the ability to think outside of the box and create next generation projects that will prepare them for life in the digital age! I can't wait to see what they can do! They may be the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs!
