My Project

My students are outspoken and full of energy. We have very few art supplies.

My students need markers and color and printed paper to help them complete our upcoming project.

I want them to incorporate drawing with fabrics, using beautiful colors and fabrics, to develop color, collage, drawing and composition skills. The lesson is based on artist Bisa Butlers' vibrant portraits of African Americans, so that my students can see themselves and their history in their art and be empowered by those reflections and to create Contemporary American Art.
