My students need engaging, leveled books to spark their interest in reading and learning new information. Also, the phonics and alphabet hands-on activities allow for my students to get additional independent time to practice skills.
Our school is made up of diverse children. We are at 100% free or reduced-price lunch. The children are given high expectations on a daily basis even though they may have some difficult times at home. Most of the children enjoy coming to school each day and will give their very best, knowing that the teachers will be their to support them.
The students in my classroom are eager to explore and learn.
My classroom is high energy and motivates my students to become engaged.
My low-income, kindergarten students are learning to read. They are diving into books, excited to look for known sight words. The books in this project will allow my students to be successful as they begin their journey of loving to read.
My students are able to choose their own just right books in our classroom library.
I put book bins and a shelf to help organize the library for when the students are shopping for books. The excitement I can hear when they find a book with a familiar character or scene.
These books are exactly what my students need to feel successful and want to dive into reading.
