This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
How can I live in the 21st century and not have access to technology? This is a sad question that my students have to ask themselves. With your generous donations and the purchase of a classroom laptop, my students will not have to ask themselves this question.
My students attend an inner city school.
Most of my students can only access technology at the school or at the local library. They come from low income households where there is little or no technology available to them. My students are about to go to middle school and in order for them to be ready to face what is demanded of them at the next level of their education, they need to have access to technology.
My Project
With the help of a laptop, my students will be able to learn to use computer programs, such as PowerPoint and Excel. Not only will students learn to use the programs, they will also be taught to use the computer in order to conduct research. After conducting research projects, my students will also use the computer to present their findings to the rest of their class and other classrooms. I want my students to have the opportunity to be prepared for a competitive world. They have many challenges in their lives, and I want to make sure that I can provide them with some skills that will enable them to continue to grow and learn.
