I am fortunate to teach in the center of downtown Miami. My school is very diverse, full of students of different backgrounds. They provide great opportunities for students to teach their peers about their cultural background and experiences.
The students are happy to learn from one another and make connections.
This is especially important because I teach students that are beginning to write full essays and develop critical thinking skills. I feel that if students can embrace one another for their similarities and differences at a young age, they are bound to maintain these connections for a lifetime.
The materials within this project will enable students to create their very own books. By creating books students will be motivated to learn about the writing process. The document camera will be essential in showing students step by step on how to write essays and short stories.
Students will bring their writing to life through the use of technology and graphics.
With the USB flash drives, students will be able to create, edit, and revise their work throughout the school year. The Cricut will be great for a variety of ways. Students will be able to add pictures, design unique covers and add visual details. Overall, this project will encourage and enhance the love of writing in such a critical time in their academic lives.
