Our school is located in an economically challenged area of Kanawha County. Students from this area have varying academic and economic needs. Often, students move around several times during their elementary school years. This interferes with the ability to have a solid foundation for learning. Anne Bailey's belief statement says, "We believe that the purpose of our school is to provide all students with opportunities to learn and live as productive, responsible citizens of good character."
To support this belief, we strive to provide instruction that aligns by using varying strategies and platforms.
We also facilitate a praise-centered classroom that encourages students to reach their greatest academic potential. Our students are more engaged and inspired when they receive recognition and praise for their efforts in obtaining their academic goals. My Project
We will use the 42 copies of "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" by Dr. Seuss as an inspirational gift for each of our students. Past and present teachers of each student will have the opportunity to write a quote, note of encouragement and special memory as a keepsake. This project is a favorite past-time for Anne Bailey students and teachers alike. Students are so excited about receiving this treasure. In fact, many of them bring it to school the following day in order to share the quotes, notes of encouragement and memories.
Please help us celebrate and continue this tradition by keeping this a special surprise for our students!
This idea isn't a new idea since many parents provide such treasures for their kids. However, due to poor economic conditions and the struggles our parents face just to provide basic needs many of our parents cannot afford such a gift. With your generous gift, we'll be able to provide this wonderful experience and inspirational treasure that will be carried throughout their academic future and beyond.
