My students are a challenge in the best possible way! They are inquisitive, creative, and intelligent, even if they do not think they are. Some of my students are clearly driven and engaged, while others need more support and encouragement.
They enjoy a learning experience where they can express their ideas and have a safe place to make mistakes and grow.
My students enjoy learning, but what is more important is that they appreciate being meaningfully engaged in the classroom.
My Project
In my English classroom, my students argue about which group will sit in the reading corner that has two pillows and a carpet. With the number of collaborative projects and activities they do in my class, why should they argue? I’m requesting rugs, bean bags, and inspirational quotes to make additional seating areas for each group.
My project is to revitalize my classroom, remove the traditional desks, and create flexible seating areas so my students can work collaboratively in a setting that inspires them to grow and learn.
My goal is for every student to feel motivated in my class.
