Help me give my students an inviting classroom with age appropriate billboards and borders that create a space these students want to be in. This project includes candy which is used to reinforce good choices and motivate change.
As a speech language pathologist, my job includes much more than just fixing sounds. My students are among those who face major challenges in their young lives. I have students who are struggling to learn and to fit in with their peers. I have others with crippling anxiety and who are overcoming trauma, abuse, and neglect.
My goal is to provide a safe place for my students to find support in their world while helping them to develop communication and interpersonal skills to set them up for success.
My heart goes out to all of these students and I pray every day that I can find the key to set them on the right path. When I look at my students, I see the people that they could become and I hope that I open their eyes to all the good inside them and their amazing potential.
My Project
Help me create a space where my students look forward to coming to. I work in a middle school and need to have decorations that are more inviting and age appropriate.
My students are making changes in their lives and learning new skills which can be challenging.
The items chosen in this project are meant to inspire and reinforce new behaviors. The borders have phrases and words to encourage my students. The project includes candy that is used to motivate the students to give their best effort and to keep on trying especially when things are difficult.
Small gestures like an uplifting word or piece of candy can make the difference to propel the students forward.
