Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The students that I teach need a little inspiration. I teach a classroom full of girls in the foster care system. They range in age from 11-17.

Students are placed in my classroom via children and youth services. Students come from vast educational backgrounds. The book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game would both motivate and see that possibilities are endless!

The resource that would supply our needs would be the book The Blind Side. This book is an inspirational story of a African American homeless kid who was rescued by a Caucasian family and today he is a professional football player. The students in our facility at one time or another were facing some or most of the challenges that he had to face before he was rescued. By reading this book with our class the students will be able to see that there is hope and if he was able to overcome his adversities so can they.

Dear Donors, Your help will ensure that my students believe in hope again. They will see that they can break the cycle. My students will be able to realize that they can achieve whatever their heart desires as long as they make the decision to work hard and be the best that they can be. The possibilities are endless.
