This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our community is filled with wonderful students with hidden talents and limitless potential. It's unfortunate that factors such as poverty and the lack of resources hinder many students from reaching their full potential. My students have great character, work hard in the classroom and come to school ready to learn everyday.

Despite dealing with the challenges that come with living in a high poverty area, my students still manage to work hard and excel in the classroom.

They enjoy working collaboratively, utilizing technology and doing what they can to help each other succeed.

My Project

My students love a good story. They look forward to spending time each day after lunch listening to dramatized versions of books. Everytime we begin to listen to a new sound recording, all of my students want to follow along with the book. Many times our class library only contains one or two copies of the book, so most of the class misses out on following along with the recording.

Our class will soon be ready to begin the next recording, A Cricket in Times Square, and a class set of the book would allow my students to follow along with the story, discuss the content and improve listening comprehension.
