My Students

We all know how important it is to look after our bodies, but we don't all know the various organs and systems that function to keep us moving and healthy.

Although I teach several grade levels, my sixth grade students are a true mix of learning styles.

All of my students will appreciate learning the body systems with 3 dimensional models and hands-on labs rather than simply looking at pictures in a book. My eighth grade students will also benefit from the materials as we review before their comprehensive standardized test.

My Project

Several small items are requested to enhance my students' classroom experience over multiple units that involve the body systems. From large graphics that will allow my students to view everything from a cell, the smallest unit of life, to a life-sized skeleton, to a lab activity demonstrating the importance of kidney function, my students will be inspired by the complexities of the human body.

It's vital that all students understand the various functions of the human body.

By providing large graphics and lab activities, students will not only learn the parts of the body, the systems within the body and the functions of the systems, but they will remember them. Interactive models and labs make an impression that mere text books can not.
