Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach first grade in a Title I school. Although my students may live in an impoverished neighborhood, my students are vibrant and will brighten up your day! They can be an energetic bunch! They are hard workers and love to show this to anyone who walks into our classroom or whoever they see in the hallway!
My students are an amazing group of children with different abilities and personalities.
They are busting at the seams to learn. They are excited to learn and grow.
My Project
My first grade students are wild about INSECTS! I lose their attention all the time to the ants carrying my first grade students' snack crumbs to their nest! My students are gentle and caring students who observe the ants without any malice.
I am requesting Live Insect Kits and LEGO Bricks to engage students to observe the various insects' life cycles and create brick models.
My students learn best when multiple senses are engaged. They also learn better when they are focused and involved in group work. My class will be divided into groups to observe the various insects and will create visuals and models of their insects' life cycles. They will share out with the class.
This project will keep my students focused and engaged, because they love observing nature and working together.
