Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
C., NJ has been ranked as America's most dangerous city. The majority of the students in my class receive free or reduced-price lunch. Despite the challenges my students face living in this environment, they come to school eager to learn and grow. For many students, school is their safe place, and I want to create the best environment possible for them to feel safe, secure, and cared for. They are the future of this city and have the potential to improve their community.
My Project
We need you help acquiring items for our insect study. We’ll need many different objects and books related to insects. We will begin our study by exploring books and pictures of insects. A study of insects will offer a meaningful way for the students to use literacy, mathematics, the arts, and technology to investigate and represent their understanding of important concepts related to physical development, science, and social studies.
Our students have so many questions about insects and the best way for them to learn the answers is by interacting with live insects and materials related to insects.
We will investigate the characteristics of insects, where and how they live, what insects we can find in our community, how insects change, who works with insects, how insects help the earth, and so much more.
