Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is comprised of 22 vibrant and active students! My students come to school everyday eager and willing to learn and explore the world around them. Teaching these little 6 and 7 year olds is an exciting and joyful experience. Their enthusiasm and energy they bring to the classroom makes everyday a new adventure.
Our school is located in a suburb of Los Angeles and it serves students grades K-5.
Our school cares about meeting the needs of our students.
My Project
Curiosity and the need for exploration is evident in the young minds of my first graders. It is crucial that I provide my students with the necessary tools to foster and engage them in critical and abstract thinking opportunities. Hence, proving them with the necessary tools, such as Design & Engineering stations and STEM Science Stations, my students will engage in opportunities to help them build and manipulate tools that may be conducive to molding individuals who ask important questions such as "How?" and "Why?" the world around them works. My students will use these manipulatives to help them construct and create projects to help them understand how things around them work.
I strongly believe that through the manipulation of Design & Engineering and STEM Science Stations my students will be on their way to exploring, challenging, and developing the skills necessary to becoming lifelong learners.
