My Students

Students are from a rural area and low income. They live mainly on farm to market roads and the school is located in the county. These students come to school each day ready and willing to learn. They lead very simple lives. Support is given to students daily and the students seem to be on track to be successful. High expectations and a sense of responsibility are required from each student. The school offers an effective study environment to help students practice skills they need in the classroom.

My Project

Legos have been inspiring children's natural curiosity and critical thinking for years. Students today need to develop and use their critical thinking by using these wonderful manipulatives in the classroom. These building sets will inspire their imagination and love for creativing machines. These materials will be used in centers during Science and Math time each day. I have seen how the gifted students use Stem in their classroom and how engaged they stay. I would like for the other students who have some of the same abilities to be inspired by how they can build and create in the regular classroom setting. I believe all students can learn and give the opportunity they will be successful.
