My high school students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. They are very motivated in their academic studies especially when given new opportunities that can help them be successful in the future. One way to be successful is to give students the opportunity to put their creativity to the test by using 3D pens.
Students need a break from the ongoing stress in their lives by using their hands to create.
Not only will the use of creativity be helpful to stimulate students' imagination, but it will also reduce anxiety and depression. My students need more choice of materials in their hands to be able to be more creative.
My Project
In the library makerspace, students are encouraged to use their creativity to make whatever their heart desires and relieve stress. One popular item that was donated earlier this school year was a 3D pen. Right now, students are having to take turns to use a technology tool that is very interesting to them. Providing more 3-D pens to be used at the same time not only fosters collaboration, but also imagination.
These 3-D pens nurture innovation and creative problem solving in an exciting and engaging way.
With more 3-D pens available in the makerspace, more students are allowed to experience a handheld 3-D Printing device known as a “Mynt3 Pro.” Through the use of 3-D Printing Pens, students will be encouraged to explore new technologies at their own pace. The Mynt3 supports STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) while encouraging participation into the Makerspace.
