I work with the most wonderful group of students! They are kind, helpful, motivated, and always aiming to please. At our elementary school, we focus on leadership, and it really resonates in the actions of our student body. These children are constantly looking for opportunities to help others. They tutor younger students, they pursue passions projects, they take on morning leadership roles, and they use their flex time to help teachers. There is no limit to the time they are willing to invest in their leadership roles.
My students make me want to come to work every morning.
I look forward to their smiles. I can’t walk in without hugs from all the morning care students. But what really hits me is how happy they are when they know they did their best work and produced something of which they can be proud whether it is an artistic masterpiece or an A on a test. I want to give them an environment where they can thrive and become ready to be the leaders of the future beyond their time here.
My Project
We are molding future employees. Today’s innovative workplaces use techniques that encourage employees to come to work and and want to stay there. I want the same for my students. I want them to want to be here! These beanbag chairs are part of my plan to transform our library into a work space that is inviting, comfortable, and gives students a choice of how and where to work so they can capitalize on a multitude of learning experiences. Allowing students a choice will give them the opportunity to employ learning methods that best fit their personal style. They will be more engaged and develop a deeper understand not only of what is being taught but also of how they learn best. Please help me give this to my students!
