My 4th grade students are amazing! They have a natural curiosity about the world around them, so they are full of thoughtful questions. They love learning and get excited about discovering new and interesting things. I love watching them light up as they discover their own gifts and talents.
I teach at a problem-based learning school, so we incorporate collaboration, communication, critical-thinking, and creativity into our learning each day.
I strive to create a learner-centered classroom and encourage my students to take ownership of their learning.
My students inspire me to be the best teacher that I can be. I want to inspire them to dream big and work hard!
My Project
Our class needs an iPad to track our learning and take advantage of the great apps available for education. We would love to use apps such as SeeSaw, Google Drive, Educreations, and more. We currently do not have a class iPad, so we aren't able to use these great apps yet. We would use this iPad during our reading and math workshop.
"The way we learn - and the way we teach students even the most basic skills - must reflect and capitalize on the technology, information, and people we have access to today." - George Couros, Innovator's Mindset
A class iPad would allow my students to take advantage of new technology during small group instruction. I plan on having students keep track of their work, document their thinking and learning, and create original pieces with the iPad. I could also use this for parent-teacher conferences and student conferences as well. In addition, a class iPad would be useful for creating screen casts and tutorials for my students. Thank you for reading about our classroom need and considering a donation! We already appreciate your time!
