Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are all different but we are determined to learn together. My classroom environment has an air of respectfulness, honesty, humor, and perseverance. We do not tolerate any put downs and we encourage everyone to try their best.
My students are so bright and full of life.
They work really hard to learn as much as they can so that one day they will be able to make a better life for themselves and their families. Our school's motto is "Be kind!" and "Be courageous!" Our students exemplify these characteristics each day. Our school is located in a suburban area, that has a large population of Hispanic families. Most of my students are Latinos, economically disadvantaged, and academically challenged. We are a Title 1 school.
My Project
The colored paper, construction paper, glue, scissors, and card stock will be used to place notes in my students interactive notebooks. These notebooks help my students to take notes then use the notes to review the content that we have learned this year.
Every student has a notebook for each subject area, so we are constantly placing notes into each of the notebooks which means we need a plethora of colored paper and glue.
Interactive notebooks teach my students to stay organized and arrange their thoughts at the same time. My students have so much fun as we learn through interactive notebooks. As a teacher it's important to use multiple learning styles, interactive notebooks allow me to touch on several at one time.
