Innovative Classroom for Creative and Diverse Learners!
Help me give my students the STEM activities, Science/Social Studies curriculum, flexible seating, book bins, and art supplies needed to encourage curiosity and growth within our positive learning environment!
My classroom is full of eager learners from a diverse range of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Although many of my students are at a disadvantage economically, I hope to teach them that through hard work, dedication, and perseverance anything can be achieved. My students are part of a Title 1 school nestled in the redwoods and beaches of northern California. Our school currently has 86% of our students receiving free lunch.
Our full-inclusion classroom must meet the needs of a diverse range of learners through collaborative, hands-on experiences.
Living in a rural community, many of my students struggle academically, as well as economically. However, my students are bright, curious, eager, and enthusiastic about learning. I am excited to create a rich, cooperative learning environment for these young explorers, who crave more collaboration with their peers, through different hands on-learning experiences with mediums such as art, technology, and STEM projects.
My Project
My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education and the world around them. Education is changing every day, along with the interests of my students. The STEM kits and Science/Social Studies curriculum will give my students an opportunity to engage in quality collaboration with their peers by utilizing the various tools needed for success. Cutting edge science kits will help my students gain the knowledge and confidence to become inventors and engineers.
Alternative seating and art supplies will help transform our innovative classroom into an environment that is suitable for the vigorous and challenging projects we intend to explore.
Alternative seating will help my students during independent work time when they have an opportunity to choose a space that works for them. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive to their peers when they are given a choice where to work.
Art can be connected to many different areas of learning. Art supplies will help my students express themselves creatively across the disciplines. They are very excited to have a plethora of paint colors and mediums. All the materials requested in this project will help my students learn and grow exponentially!
