I love that my students are kind and caring to one another. They are always willing to help out a friend. I noticed that when my students are allowed to work in partnerships or small groups, they do their best learning and thinking.
I would love to expand their learning needs by creating an environment with flexible seating in our classroom.
My students enjoy working around the room in all subject areas and often they are not likely to sit at a traditional desk and chair combination.
As we teach our students 21st century skills, it is imperative that they have 21st century seating. With flexible space, students can determine their most comfortable spot for learning and practicing skills.
Flexible seating allows students to decide how they will learn best.
Some students enjoy sitting on the floor on a comfy pillow, while others succeed sitting at a traditional desk and chair. Recently, I had a student who liked to stand while listening to lessons. My goal is to provide my students with all kinds of seating options so that they can do their best innovative thinking. I plan to find stools, cushions, yoga balls, and more to accommodate my students' flexible seating arrangements.
