My Students

In addition to general education students, our students represent 23 language groups, many of them English language learners, and students with special needs. Our mission is to develop joyful learners by providing them with support, encouragement, and challenges.

Our students are enthusiastic learners who thrive on creativity and being challenged!

They are motivated by high interest level curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities. They also love being able to explore, create new things, and are highly motivated by student centered learning, especially when technology is involved! We are always looking for ways to provide them with tools that will help them maximize their potential.

My Project

As Terri Eichholz stated in her blog about 3D printers in Elementary Schools, "Teaching our students about the design process is one of the most valuable skills we can give them." When students learn how to plan, problem-solve, and collaborate through the Design Process, they become citizens better equipped to face real world challenges.

Our students will be taking part in a City X Project where citizens face real-world challenges.

This workshop teaches creative problem solving using The Design Process and 3D technologies. The process teaches students to understand a challenge and the people it affects, generate possible solutions, and develop a final product that not only solves the problem at hand, but can be shared with the world. We need a Makerbot 3D printer to make this happen.
