This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school located in the heart of downtown New Haven. I have been at this school for ten years, and have had the pleasure of being the middle school science teacher as well as the eighth grade homeroom adviser. Our magnet school services students from the city, as well as from surrounding districts. Students come to our school for the dual language program, as well as the diversity that our student population shows. My kids are great, and deserve the same opportunities as students in wealthier districts.

My Project

I am asking for an iPad with an Otter Box for my middle school science students to use in labs. This coming year, our periods are shortened, so doing labs is going to be much more difficult than it was with longer classes. I have some really good lab ideas to incorporate, but I do not currently have the technology to implement these labs. Hence the iPad.

Science in middle school can be amazingly fun for students, or it can be boring.

I do my best to make sure that my classes are amazingly fun! This iPad will help me do this for my students. Thank you in advance for all of your support!
