Mrs. Neville from Chicago IL is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need center materials and take home books to share at home and we need ink to print and share with families.

"It takes a village to raise our children!" As a mother at home and twenty at school, I am always looking to provide the best education for all of my children. This means reaching out to the community for support and resources to provide the very best for our children! Our neighborhood school is located on the south side of Chicago. We have very little resources. The only funding I received from the district was a two hundred ad fifty dollar stipend which was all spent before school even started on the students' school supplies as the parents did not have the resources to purchase them. We are a Title One school with a high mobility and free or reduced price lunch rate and are in need. My early childhood students need a literacy rich environment.
As an early childhood teacher, I am creating new activities to share at home with families. This includes printing activities and books for students to engage in with their families at home. It is so important to create a literacy rich environment at home for children. This includes environmental print and books students can manipulate, read/share with their families. Doing so, I create/print paper books for my students. We read these stories in the classroom to build their love of literature and in turn, they bring these books home to share their excitement with their families. Students will then have the opportunity to have all of these books to keep and share in their own personal home libraries. Ink is expensive and as a Title One school teacher, I am responsible for purchasing all of my classroom materials. Therefore, I am asking for your help! I cannot do this alone. Like they say, "It takes a village to raise children!" And that is what I am doing; I am helping support my students as I am building a foundation to prepare them for college and career readiness.
