This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is the sixth year of our high school STEM program. Students in this program work towards advanced science and engineering content as well as excelling in programs in math, history, English and foreign language. Currently, this program serves about 385 students and it is growing each year. Our STEM high school is a 100% free and reduced-price lunch charter school in Kansas City, Missouri. Our student population, a mixed demographic of primarily Hispanic, Somali, and African American students, is over 50% ESL.
Our students engage in project-based learning in PLTW classes, while earning their engineering credentials to prepare them for the next steps beyond high school.
My students strive to become college and career ready and our school serves as a support for them to reach their goals in whichever ways they need.
My Project
We are requesting ink for our printer. Our classroom printer has been used for several activities, assessments, and homework assignments, and the ink is running out. We have a functioning printer but not enough liquid ink to keep it printing.
Please help us get the items we need to keep our classrooms functioning smoothly.
Please help us get funding for this project so that we do not have to worry about replacing ink cartridges and being able to print whatever the class needs at the time! Most of the time, I have to print more than any regular time; that's why I am requesting your help.
