My Students

I am a 5th and 6th-grade teacher in a low-income school in Brooklyn. We have approximately 1,000 students in our school, with very little funding for anything. They are an incredible group of kids who are inquisitive and excited to take on new topics in the classroom. It is my goal to create an environment that fosters learning so that we can better achieve all standards.

My students consist of a diverse group of kids from all different backgrounds.

They are wonderful, motivated, unique, and loving. They really are enthusiastic learners who yearn to persevere through challenges. My school is filled with lifelong learners who, when given the opportunity and support, really shine.

My Project

My students need to use a printer in the classroom daily to conduct research complete projects and print papers. Since many of them do not have computers at home or printers we go through and quite a few cartridges frequently. This project will enable them to have what they need at their fingertips and have a printer accessible daily. The kids in our school work hard and are frequently taking the initiative to add more to the lessons learned through research and sharing resources with their peers. Being able to have it at their fingertips makes it so much easier for them!
