"I don't have a printer at home." "Can you print this for me in color?" These are some of the needs my students face when it comes to working on their projects.
The students in my school are like a family.
Most of the students attended the same Boston public elementary school and have been friends for several years. They support and help each other along the way to develop a deeper understanding of the math concepts, as well as their applications. They are creative, innovative, and genuinely interested in math.
Our school is a Title I Boston Public School. Many of our students come from low income families; all of our students receive free lunch. Many of them will hopefully be the first in their families to go to college. Over half of them do not speak English at home, and for many, English is not their first language.
My Project
Thanks to the donors like you on Donorschoose who made it possible for me to have printers in my classroom. It definitely made a differences in my classroom. I was able to print worksheets for the students without wait. I was also able to let many students to print out pictures and graphs for their different projects. Many of my students do not have printers at home, making it difficult when it comes to poster or hand made projects with pictures and arts from the computer. Having this resource available to the students give all students equal access to their creativity. It no longer limited by their resources at home, but by what they can imagine.
By having more ink, students can continue to print in color in the classroom as well as black and white.
They can print what they need for their projects. It brighten up what they can do with their imagination and creativity without being limited by what is available to them at home.
