"We are family", this is my classroom motto. The students know as soon as they walk in the door they are in a safe environment and will learn in a fun atmosphere. We sing, dance, & color outside the lines to make learning fun. At the end of the school year, I want my students skilled for 2nd grade.
Since my school is a Title 1 it is hard for me as a teacher to have a color printer.
First grade has a community printer that is black and white but we can only print lesson plans. It is nearly impossible for me to print anything else that my students might need to grasp a concept. I have noticed that they remember and recall facts when I have printed games in color. It is bright and vivid which helps them remember what was taught. By having ink for my printer, I can print out fun file folder games that are aligned with the common core curriculum, flash cards for their sight words, and any worksheets that goes along with the standard. I always place a variety of these items in both their reading and math centers. The students thoroughly enjoy playing their file folder games. As a teacher, I love seeing the students get excited about a game because I know that they are still learning the standard that I taught just in a different form.

In order for my students to reach their maximum learning experience it is my goal to give them everything they need in order to succeed.
Each child learns differently. By having ink for my printer, I can print a variety of resources for the students to learn the standard in a child friendly version. This will change the lives of my students because they will be able to master the concept and excel when the time comes for the test.
