Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 10 autism students ranging in age from kindergarten through fourth grade. My students were all impacted by Hurricane Harvey in devastating fashion. Most of their homes flooded or had standing water.
My autism students thrive on routine and structure and Harvey impacted their routines at home.
I'm hoping creating projects here on DonorsChoose will help them feel more comfortable in the school setting and help me, as their teacher, create that comfortable classroom environment to meet their needs.
My Project
We have a classroom printer that was funded by DonorsChoose! Now, we need ink so we can put our printer to good use.
My autism students need lots of colorful visuals around the classroom to communicate, stay on task, check their schedule each day, and for their learning materials.
Our school does not have a color printer that is of access to teachers. With color and black ink, I can print these necessary visuals for my autism students.
I have been printing everything I need in color at home, and the cost is getting too much for me to continue doing so. With your help, I can print everything right at school and have it ready for my students quickly and conveniently.
