Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my third, fourth, and fifth grade special education class is very rigorous, and students are expected to focus for long periods of time. Most of my students struggle to focus for even five minutes! My students are some of the hardest workers I know, and they are always eager to learn.
I work in a low income community where students cannot afford supplies and most receive free or reduced price lunch.
I strive to give them all that I can both academically and emotionally.
My Project
With only 12 students in my class, it is often difficult to get our copies quickly through the school copiers. Having the necessary printer ink for our classroom is essential to the needs of our classroom. The ink I am requesting for our classroom will supply our printer with enough ink to last the entire school year!
Providing my students with ink for our printer will help them learn with the new Common Core Curriculum.
Many times our students want to "take this home to mom," and with additional ink and copy paper, it is much easier to send home a copy to their excited parents! The post-its can be used to track my students' thinking and display on charts and in their notebooks.
This project is so important to me because my students need ink for our classroom computer. The ink is very expensive, and hard to get towards the middle/end of the school year! I need to make sure that my students never run out of the ink or copy paper that they need!
