My students need HP - 11.6'Chromebook - Intel Celeron - 2GB Memory - 16GB eMMC Flash Memory - Black and Targus 11.6' Chromebook Charging Case - notebook carrying case for classroom science research.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school serves minority students, who are mostly from low income homes but have big dreams and want to achieve success. They are very energetic and enjoy coming to school and learning science.
I teach chemistry, which has some abstract concepts that are hard to comprehend by some of my students.
Therefore, we do some hands-on activities to help them understand and get around the difficult concepts. We also do research projects to help them investigate and analyze information that relate to the concept that I teach.
My Project
My project involves researching concept of fractional distillation. The students will use the Chromebook to research and write down their finding on poster boards. They will be required to add pictures of the set equipment during fractional distillation.
The objective of my project is to expose students to the chemistry of distillation.
The students will investigate and analyze information from the internet using Chromebook. They will then interpret the information in their own understanding in order to present it to the piers. The Chromebook will be protected with a carrying case since multiple students will be handling the device. At the end of the project, rough drafts on papers will be shredded and sent for recycling.
This project will help my students take control of their own learning by giving them a voice to interpret the concept of distillation based on their understanding.
