My students come to our small, rural school from all walks of life. This community is unique in that we only have one class in each grade, which creates a learning cohort that students are part of throughout middle and high school. They get to know each other and their teachers very well, which helps our little school meet our educational goals.
My students are the future.
Every day I see in them the compassion, cooperation, empathy, intelligence, and tenacity we will need to navigate our rapidly changing world. My students teach me as much as I teach them - they are heroes, every last one.
My Project
I love my new classroom but it is missing some key features that my students need. This room is smaller than the one I had last year, and presents some space-related organizational challenges. We need a smaller bulletin board and a smarter way to organize and store important papers.
I save exceptional examples of student work to show to future classes as inspiration!
We need a proper place to store these and other resources that we use year after year. A small filing cabinet is perfect for this job. We also need a place to display current student work, announcements, and positive messages throughout the year. A smaller bulletin board that fits within our new space is in order!
