My class this year is amazing! They have all come from distance learning in the spring and have a new appreciation for school. Our class is built from mostly in school learners, but we have some students who chose the option to do distance learning for the first term. Each time a student decides to come back to in person learning, the students in class become so excited and swarm the new student with friendly hellos.
My students are information seekers who want to learn everything around them as quickly as possible.
They ask questions and work hard to understand the world around them. There is no amount of information that is too big or too small. They gobble it right up. I admire the way they choose to spend their time reading and learning. I hope to bring more of that into my classroom this year.
My Project
Receiving a Scholastic for Kids magazine subscription will give my students access to information in print form for both current events and in science. They are so desperate for more information, and I want to give them access to more of it in the classroom.
My hope with this donation is to give my students a physical copy of printed information so they can find everything they are looking for in all forms.
In today's world, younger and younger students are finding all of their sources and information from the internet. While this is a great tool and so helpful, we have lost the art of reading information in news papers and magazines.
