My Students

Every year I am blessed with a wide array of students with all different styles of life. There is not one day I go without laughing. These kids have such bright personalities and can find a way to make any moment a shining moment. I have always found my fourth graders have such a thirst for knowledge and can never get enough. No matter what topic I bring up, it becomes their new favorite, and ask what books I have about it. I try to give what I have, but it’s often not enough. My wish was to always send books home with these kids to keep their learning going.

My Project

Many of our families are of a low socioeconomic status so it’s harder to buy these newer magazines for their kids. We know magazines are not as common now that kids are hooked on video games. I want to feed these kids and their desire to learn in and out of my classroom. They always take their learning home and tell their parents, but this would bring so much more of their learning to life. They always ask me “Ms. G, how do you know all of that”, and I want them to see how by reading. I’ve told my kids, I’m here to make them a better version of themselves and to one day become better than me. That can be pushed by these kids reading about the history of where we come from and the science of how it all works.
