I am a first year teacher and I am striving to give my new class the best resources available to give them the learning experience they need and deserve in Kindergarten. We live in a rural Oklahoma area and many of my students come from high poverty homes. Despite their different home situations, they all come to school eager to learn. All of my students are wonderful, energetic, and eager learners! My new class has inspired me to seek after new resources to help us master our learning objectives, which is why I am seeking funding for new materials to help make our year the best it can be!
My Project
Today's students are growing up in an ever changing world with technology at the forefront, which is why adding a new iPad to my classroom will be beneficial for my students. I would love to have an Ipad station to utilize during literacy and mathematics centers in my classroom, which is why I am asking for a new Ipad, protective cover, and headphones. Having a Ipad station would allow me to know exactly which skills my students are working on, and they will have the opportunity to use new technology. It's a win-win situation for everyone! Adding a new iPad to our classroom would provide opportunities to use a multitude of learning apps. We will use the iPad and its technological capabilities to coincide with our reading and math curriculum. We will use the iPad at many different times of the day, including large group instruction, small group instruction, and centers. The different ways that we will use the iPad will vary greatly depending on the subject we are studying. The addition of this piece of equipment will provide my students with numerous opportunities to learn how to read and do math in a way that is up to date with current technology. I also need a protective case to keep our new iPad safe and wireless headphones help with the center noise management.
This project would impact my students learning experience tremendously.
