Industry Certifications Needed
Help me give my students a laptop computer to help them gain industry certifications.
My students are from a small community with high expectations but limited resources. Students are expected to look beyond the classroom and into the world to develop solutions to everyday problems. Students take on this challenge with rigor and purpose developing projects that address issues in their families, communities, state, and nation. They are the solution seekers of the future and deserve all the support they can get.
I endeavor to make learning experiences in the classroom both enjoyable and memorable.
By providing students with the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom and developing partnerships with community stakeholders, I can provide the best learning environment possible. Such experiences not only improve the livelihood of the students themselves, but also improve their families and the community in which they live.
Having laptops in the classroom is essential to building career ready individuals. In my CTE classroom, the focus on industry certifications is a high priority. My students have the opportunity to gain certifications such as ServSafe Food Handler and Manager, W!SE Financial Literacy, and more. Without the access to technology, my students will be left behind others in their career goals.
Because of these leading certifications, students are gaining employment and earning higher wages upon graduation.
Because of the high poverty rate in my district, students are only able to access during school hours. This is why it is so crucial for me to be able to provide this opportunity in the classroom.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
