Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal for this project is to provide my students with fun materials to use during indoor recess. With the cold winter months, we spend all day in the classroom. Recess is a time for students to socialize and play. With these materials, my students will be able to develop language, social, and problem solving skills.

Although we do have outdoor recess as much as we can, the long Chicago winters make it difficult to spend time outside.

Students would get 20 minutes daily to use the materials and a special "recess cart" to store them and put away when they are done. I plan to switch out the materials to maintain engagement.

I have 23 awesome students who would love the opportunity to play with the appropriate materials.
