Each day my students come to school eager to learn. As their teacher, I am always looking for ways to draw in their interest to make the most of our learning time.
As a first and second grade looping teacher, I have the wonderful opportunity to watch my students learn and grow over the two years we spend together.
I enjoy helping them in first grade to lay the foundation of their education journey and watch them continue to grow and build upon that knowledge as they enter and progress through second grade.
The weather in Oklahoma can be very unpredictable. The change in temperature and weather conditions can lead to several days of inside recess. Recess is such an important time for kids to let out energy and engage with their classmates through play while learning. That is why I am requesting a variety of board games such as Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Trouble, Chess and Sorry. I am also asking for card games and interactive play games such as Pictionary and Headbanz as well as coloring books. These indoor recess games will provide fun and entertainment on those days we are stuck indoors. The students will also work on logic, strategy and cooperative learning while playing these games. Allowing my students time to explore and learn in an enjoyable and creative way through games will lead to a more productive and beneficial learning throughout the day.
