My 2nd-grade classroom is a busy place-online right now! But we are set to return to in-person learning very soon. At this time, my students have remained enthusiastic about school. They participate in live lessons, they do their assignments online, and they keep a smile on their faces the whole time!
Indoor recess is bound to happen with super-low temperatures or just plain nasty weather.
Once we are back in school, students will need to have their own personal supply of materials to use during indoor recess. Due to new rules, we are unable to share the usual indoor recess materials.
My Project
With these items, students will maintain social distancing inside the classroom during indoor recess and have items to place in their individual recess bag. Students will have individual activities with the use of problem-solving games and drawing books. This will also give them something to do during recess that is not on their computer or outside since winter can be nasty sometimes. These indoor items will bring indoor recess to a new level for students!
With these materials, students won't complain about indoor recess anymore!
Often that announcement is met with groans, but these games, drawing books, magnetic blocks, puzzles, and more will be something the students will look forward to using. Some of the materials will even lend themselves well to students playing a game "together but apart". Bags will be safely rotated between students so each student gets a turn with all of the different items.
