Our school is located in a small, rural town. It consists of many amazing students who come from four different neighboring towns as well.
The students are busy learning many new things in different ways!
Many of our students are ready to learn and take on the challenges of first grade. As my students are beginning to read and write many words, it is important for them to do so in different ways! It is a new adventure each day and I enjoy having a diverse group of learners.
My Project
Our district recently purchased all new furniture for our classrooms. In my first grade classroom, I now have a sectional couch! My students have asked for pillows to go with the couch as they read to themselves or with a friend. The lamps will be used for soft lighting in our reading area. The fluorescent ceiling lights are so bright and sometimes we need to have less light.
During indoor recess, my students need and want to play!
What a better way to play than to learn as you're working together to create engineering designs with STEM kits. The kids will love building with gears to design and create! While they are playing with the STEM kits, they will actually be learning. Students can build a playground, work together to build with other STEM building materials, and share their creations with classmates. Students learn through STEM by exploring and problem-solving. They will enjoy working together to see what they can make.
