I teach elementary health and physical education students in kindergarten through sixth grade in a rural, low-income community in Central Pennsylvania.
I also am the assistant coach for our girl's varsity soccer program.
Last season, we were able to put together a 15-3-1 season and surprise a lot of teams. We made it to the top 8 in the state. Our girls are dedicated, hardworking, and trying to prove that they belong with the top teams in the state.
My Project
Our girl's high school soccer team is requesting four indoor soccer goals and two indoor soccer balls. Not only will we be able to use them to practice indoors when the weather is bad during our season, but we will also be able to practice indoors during the long, cold Pennsylvania winter!
The indoor facility we are currently able to use is being sold and these goals would give us the ability to practice indoors at our own high school during frequent inclement weather.
Our plan is to also use them to be able to host futsal soccer tournaments with local teams as a fundraiser for our program. Our junior high team would also have access to the equipment.
The 24 athletes on our team work hard and have big goals for our season. Any help to reach those goals would be appreciated!
