This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are excited second graders who come to school with lots of enthusiasm to learn! They come from a variety of backgrounds and have lots of differences that they love to share with the class.
Children come to school with so many different needs.
The things they learn here at school go far past general curriculum into life skills and acceptance of differences. At school they love to interact and get to know one another in a variety of ways.
My Project
One of the most difficult things to tell children is that we have to stay inside for recess. Recess is their favorite part of the day, and we need some things to make in door recess more fun.
Games teach so many great skills!
We need Sorry, Candy Land, Connect Four, and Trouble to help children learn how to play together. They will work on things like communication skills, encouraging one another, and accepting the fact that we can not always win. Art is just another way for kids to express themselves. Providing them with Play Doh, Crayola Markers, and various coloring books gives children something else to occupy their minds and bodies during this time.
