This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach third and fourth grade math and Spanish in Detroit. Our school is a place where students take a world language from kindergarten through eighth grade. My students love learning Spanish and Math and will use these resources in both classes.
My Project
These storage bins will give students safer and personalized storage. Without storage inside students desks, it has been difficult for students to have quick access to their workbooks. With individual storage bins under each student's chair, they will have access to their materials whenever they need. This will also prevent the need for students to touch other students' materials passing out books.
I am also purchasing extra headphones for the classroom to promote an equitable learning space where all students have access to materials, whether they can bring them from home or not.
