My class is a diverse group of boys and girls from a number of religious and cultural backgrounds. Many of my students are multi-lingual and most come from financially struggling families. A number of my students have already seen trauma in their short lives, so school is a safe, routine oriented place for them to learn, grow, and be loved.
Their strength and determination are inspiring.
I want to harness these fantastic qualities into creating strong, problem-solving students! My goal is to make sure that they never feel like they have less of a chance of succeeding than any one of their peers. They should believe that nothing can get in their way and have a chance to fulfill their dreams. There is nothing I love more than seeing one of my students use tools and strategies in our classroom and to accomplish their personal and academic goals.
My students love to play games! I am always trying to find ways to help my students be more eager about math. These math activities and folders are just what they need to practice their math fluency during their independent or small group work time every day and have some fun!
When working with small groups, it is imperative to give students a personalized education.
I have found that my students are more engaged when I can make their independent tasks into a game that is fun and accessible to them. With these new math folders, my students will be able to choose different activities each day to practice their skills at their own pace and learning level.
These resources will reach 23 math learners that have an academic range from pre-k where they are continuing to increase their counting and number identifying skills to 3rd grade where they are completing mathematic tasks with numbers beyond 1,000. The wide range of developmental activities in these kits will help give each student that important, individualized math practice to improve their current skills and challenge them to develop new ones.
