Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a rural community of a diverse population. We are a title 1 school with 100% free lunch. Our students love school and like to learn. As we start the school year, we will be remote due to Covid 19. Our plan is to return in person on September 14th. I am writing this project with those things in mind.
Safety comes first and then learning!
This is why I am requesting supplies as we begin the school year in these uncertain times that will promote safety and learning.
My Project
Each student will have their own pencil boxes to store their personal writing utensils in and book bins. I will be sending home toolkits, so they can have hands on learning. These toolkits will contain markers, headphones, pencil sharpeners, and flashcards.
The whiteboards and dry erase markers will be used when we are meeting virtually.
Students can hold up their boards as they practice their mathematics and phonics with me. Students love using whiteboards!
I will also send home flashcards, so they can practice their multiplication and division facts.
When we return to school in 4 weeks, the individual book bins, pencil boxes, and markers will help keep us safe as we learn.
