My students need 3 Amazon Kindle Fires and 3 Kids Shock Proof Protective Cases.

I teach math to approx. 80 second grade students. We explore math concepts and patterns, explain our thinking, and persevere through mistakes. My students have the desire to learn and I believe successfully teaching them math concepts for understanding is the best gift I can give them!
My students live in a lower socio-economic area.
Some go home to unimaginable situations, but come to school each day to greet me with a smile and hug. They often lack support at home. Teachers at our school wear many hats, providing extra food and clothes, counseling, giving hair cuts, social worker, friend, and cheer leader. It's easy to get discouraged with all that we see and all the students face, but we live for the "aha" moments when students are successful or struggle with determination. We rejoice with them in their accomplishments and all the right choices they make.
My students will be using 3 Kindle Fire Tablets in addition to 3 classroom computers for a total for 6 students who can receive individualized instruction! I have so many students that are in many various learning levels it is very challenging for me to meet all the needs. I will be able to maximize my instruction by having students using technology while I can meet with small groups. I'll be able to provide targeted, personalized instruction to 12 students at once! (6 on technology, 6 in teachers station) I use research based websites that give diagnostic tests and then assign lessons and practice based on individual needs. 3 Kindle Fires will further my reach of influence and provide a way of differentiating instruction. Lower learning students can receive practice on below level concepts while an advanced student can be challenged above grade level! The possibilities are endless.
This project will help me reach more students, efficiently and effectively.
I will be able to provide targeted direct instruction to 3 additional students in my classroom. My students are on many various levels and I provide numerous interventions for them. By using research-based website resources, I can collect data on them to provide documentation that can drive my instruction. You can help me make the most of my instructional time and make every minute count!
