My Students
Our first grade friends come from a rural community. We have friends who are non-verbal, who like to move, move, move! Our Daily 5 allows for movement and individual differentiated instruction.
"Do we get to do Daily 5 today?
I sure hope so!" Our first grade friends thoroughly enjoy Daily 5. Their favorite center is the listening center. Students have access to books at their own level at the learning center.
We are a low income, high poverty district. Over 80% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We are a Title I school.
My Project
My first grade friends are grouped into five groups as they travel to skill based centers, for individualized instruction for our Daily 5 lessons. The Otter Box cases are important. We try our best, but we are First Graders, and the Otter Boxes will be beneficial for those "oopsies" we have occasionally as we carry our iPads around.
These iPads will make educational, adaptable, and engaging lessons.
We would like to add to our library of iPads, annually, for the next 10 years. With a class of 20, I believe ALL students would benefit from access to an iPad throughout the day, EVERY day in the classroom.
