Help me give my students a 1:1 ratio of Dell Chromebooks with Sony Headphones to help limit distractions and promote mastery-based individualized STEM learning.
Making science fun by creating a learning environment that stimulates inquiry, supports comprehension through individualized instruction and encourages mastery is the goal for my incoming seventh-grade students!
Being exposed to the second year of the new "Science with Engineering Education" core in Utah, these kids were greeted with a new teacher and a brand new science lab classroom.
They need one more Chromebook and a classroom set of headphones to help minimize distractions while they inquire, test and reflect during individualized learning.
My Project
At my school, I have classes that include thirty-one students. Our class has a Chromebook cart of thirty Dell Chromebooks. When there are no absences, I am one Chromebook short in a few classes. My students would like to have one more Chromebook so that each of them has one to use. Many of the programs that I use for individualized instruction have sound. Having a classroom set of headphones would be ideal so that students nearby are not distracted by the sound from a classmate's Chromebook. With a classroom set of Sony headphones, there would be fewer distractions so that my students have a better chance to learn science concepts at their own pace.
