My Students
Our school is a Title 1, STEAM Magnet Program, which services more than 50% of students on free and reduced lunch. Teachers specialize in teaching STEAM to enhance student engagement and 21st-century learning experiences. For most of these student's their only experiences with Science and Technology is in the classroom. Title I funds may cover many things, however providing teachers and students with enough technology in the classroom so every student can benefit from the opportunities is next to impossible without the help of donors.
My Project
Having technology in the classroom is a necessity for 21st century learning. By donating to my project, you will be providing my 2nd grade students with Samsung Chromebooks which will have a variety of uses in the classroom. For example, students can practice missed reading and math skills by using learning programs that are provided by the school right in our classroom. In addition, students will have the opportunities to use Google Classroom and research and type their projects or class work in the classroom. Finally, you will be providing all students an opportunity to complete passion projects in the classroom to extend and enhance their knowledge of things that interest them. As we know, using computers and technology is important to learning and having 1-1 technology benefits all students.
